Join a webinar on Friday, April 8th at 12:00pm Bangkok time (UTC/GMT+7) to discuss how you can be involved in the newly launched Global Resilience Challenge Water Window. Development experts from the Zurich Insurance Group and the Global Resilience Partnership will discuss how flooding affects the Horn of Africa and outline how you can apply.
The Water Window challenge offers up to US $1m in grants for innovative solutions to issues affecting flood prone communities across the Sahel, the Horn of Africa, and South and Southeast Asia.
Registration for the Water Window challenge is now open online. From March 29, registered entrants may submit Concept Notes to be eligible for scaling‐up and seed grants. The Water Window invites submissions that will build resilience to flooding and flood risk, and which stand to benefit millions of vulnerable people. It will seek to support new solutions – or to scale up those already working – that fall within one or more of the following focus areas: technology; innovative financing, including risk transfer mechanisms; measurement and diagnostics (tools that enable better understanding problems and risk caused by flooding); policy and influence, and learning and innovation (including community practices that enhance awareness, education, engagement, female empowerment, and action orientation).
